Lake Placid, Skiing Whiteface this weekend, MAPLE SYRUP PRODUCTION

Renee and I on the cold and snowy Whiteface slopes April 3rd.
Renee and I went and stayed in Lake Placid this weekend. We found a mega inexpensive hotel that cost like $4, but still had a hot tub so that was a good score. We climbed Mt Andrew and Mt Adams on Saturday - ended up being sunnier than expected. Two snow squalls came through, but then it would clear up and be nice and sunny. The view from Mt Adams was spectacular - you could see Mt Marcy and Algonquin clearly. On Sunday we skied Whiteface - such an awesome mountain. It was snowing most of the day, not bad for April 3rd! We really liked this ski area, it's got tons of vertical drop and it's not all commercialized like a lot of other ski areas. Stopped in Lake George for dinner on the way home at this steakhouse that was almost as good as pizza. Awesome weekend around Lake Placid! Sunday was my 50th day skiing this season and Mt Adams was the 135th major peak I've climbed since last April.

Ma and I in front of this years Maple Syrup we made - we produced almost 7 gallons.

Photo of our backyard after April 4th snow. Skied Hogback. I wish it would keep snowing through June.
