CATSKILL WINTER HIKING = COLDER THAN A KITTY'S HEART!!

Just when you thought it couldn't get colder than a dastardly cat's heart, we showed up at the Catskills to hike the winter 4, required by the Catskill 35 club. You have to hike the 35 peaks above 3,500 feet in elevation in the Catskills (many of which are bushwhacks) and then hike 4 of those peaks again in winter (Balsam, Panther, Blackhead and Slide). Renee and I have completed 3 of the 4 winter requirements. We only have Balsam left to hike out of the winter 4. This past weekend we hiked Panther and the weekend before that, Slide. It was like -8195 degrees. Two extremely beautiful days though, as long as you didn't mind the Arctic frost of cold brutality. So awesome!!
On Panther Mountain Jan 17th. COLD. Giant Ledges are beautiful. You can see all the way over to Mount Everett in Mass on the Connecticut border.
Slide Mountain. Jan 10th. VERY COLD. Like -5. Just look at all the damn clouds everywhere.
I never liked Reese Witherspoon until I saw Wild. Top 30 movies of all-time. Everyone should go see it, it was incredible. So awesome!
