78/110

I'm up to 78 mountains out of the 110 I've set out to climb above 3000 feet.

Bagged four more awesome ones this past weekend. Danielle and I hiked Blue Ridge Mountain in Mendon, VT which had breathtaking views at the top. She and I also picked off 7 miles of the Appalachian trail Saturday as well.

Been doing a lot of hunting too. Went hunting up on the Mountain at my camp in Starksboro - I didn't see a thing for 4 hours, and then when I was heading back to my cabin I saw a black bear! It bolted the minute it saw me, but it was pretty cool!! Keep your distance!! This was the 6th bear I've seen just since this summer!! I think that's telling me I spend an inordinate amount of time in the wilderness because who the hell sees 6 bears in one season in Vermont!!!!

Halloween season is here. (Actually at our house it's Halloween all year long - Our Halloween decorations are up 365 days a year, the way any true American household should be ha ha!) Been watching tons of legendary horror movies with Mikey X and Kimball - I'm doing a showing of Halloween II (the original) at Club 242 Main in Burlington on the big screen next week. Also, there's an awesome haunted corn maize in Guilford coming up, The Pittsford Haunted House which Mikey X and a bunch of us go to every year, and then Haunted Overload in NH, which is rated one of the best Halloween events ever - which Danielle and I are planning on hittin gup. Lots of cool stuff going on this month!!

In the meantime, we've been getting more and more donations for the Brattleboro skatepark. It would be so awesome to at last have a skatepark in Brattleboro.

Columbus Day weekend was ridiculously nice weather out. Warm, nice breeze, no clouds within like 100 million miles. Foliage was peaking and in full effect. Here's the sunset from the top of Burke Mountain in the Northeast Kingdom.

This is Umpire Mountain to the west of Burke Mountain. Everything is orange. Awesome.
The summit of Bald Mountain in Westmore Vt. The 3rd highest peak in the Northeast Kingdom. The views were so good you could like see back into the future.
Ma hitting up the chairlift on the way up to look at the foliage earlier in October. She and I are planning on hitting up more foliage near Ripton/Middlebury this Sunday. Vermont exploration and adventure in full force!!!!!!
Ma from the top of East Mountain in East Haven Vermont. Way out in the sticks. This was a long hike to the top, but it had a really good, gradual route to the top that was easy to climb.
