WONDERFULLY INEPT CRAPPY PHOTOS FOR AN AWESOME WEEKEND
This weekend was a total rager. Had a late-night skate session friday night at Talent with Mikey and a whole crew. Everyone tore the park up!...busting out tricks left and right. I learned a whole slew of new stuff. Misfits and Metallica songs playing on the jukebox the whole night. Best of times! Here's Mikey and I tired after am incredible 3-hour long skate session friday night at Talent Skatepark:
Danielle and I took our nieces and nephews from her side to the Enchanted Halloween Forest at Solar Hill in Brattleboro Saturday. Haunted Houses, Scarecrow Making, Wizards, Painting Jack O'Lanterns....what more could anyone want in an afternoon! So Awesome!!
That's me being a dork like usual & also looking tired as hell from climbing Shrewsbury Mountain (the mountain just over from Killington Mountain) on Sunday. There's Ma looking well-rested and ready to go over to Killington Summit and hike like 770 miles. She's almost 66, I'm 33, she carried me down the mountain piggy back and left me in the dust. I gotta pick up the slack, Ma is killin' it at hiking these days!!
"What are you looking at? This mountain ain't nothing. Bring me to Mount McKinley..."

78/110
I'm up to 78 mountains out of the 110 I've set out to climb above 3000 feet.
Bagged four more awesome ones this past weekend. Danielle and I hiked Blue Ridge Mountain in Mendon, VT which had breathtaking views at the top. She and I also picked off 7 miles of the Appalachian trail Saturday as well.
Been doing a lot of hunting too. Went hunting up on the Mountain at my camp in Starksboro - I didn't see a thing for 4 hours, and then when I was heading back to my cabin I saw a black bear! It bolted the minute it saw me, but it was pretty cool!! Keep your distance!! This was the 6th bear I've seen just since this summer!! I think that's telling me I spend an inordinate amount of time in the wilderness because who the hell sees 6 bears in one season in Vermont!!!!
Halloween season is here. (Actually at our house it's Halloween all year long - Our Halloween decorations are up 365 days a year, the way any true American household should be ha ha!) Been watching tons of legendary horror movies with Mikey X and Kimball - I'm doing a showing of Halloween II (the original) at Club 242 Main in Burlington on the big screen next week. Also, there's an awesome haunted corn maize in Guilford coming up, The Pittsford Haunted House which Mikey X and a bunch of us go to every year, and then Haunted Overload in NH, which is rated one of the best Halloween events ever - which Danielle and I are planning on hittin gup. Lots of cool stuff going on this month!!
In the meantime, we've been getting more and more donations for the Brattleboro skatepark. It would be so awesome to at last have a skatepark in Brattleboro.
Columbus Day weekend was ridiculously nice weather out. Warm, nice breeze, no clouds within like 100 million miles. Foliage was peaking and in full effect. Here's the sunset from the top of Burke Mountain in the Northeast Kingdom.
This is Umpire Mountain to the west of Burke Mountain. Everything is orange. Awesome.
The summit of Bald Mountain in Westmore Vt. The 3rd highest peak in the Northeast Kingdom. The views were so good you could like see back into the future.
Ma hitting up the chairlift on the way up to look at the foliage earlier in October. She and I are planning on hitting up more foliage near Ripton/Middlebury this Sunday. Vermont exploration and adventure in full force!!!!!!
Ma from the top of East Mountain in East Haven Vermont. Way out in the sticks. This was a long hike to the top, but it had a really good, gradual route to the top that was easy to climb.

DANIELLE: 1/2 MARATHON; FULL POWER!!
A couple facts about this 1/2 marathon: 1) Danielle's first 1/2 marathon. It was in Hampton Beach, NH last Sunday. 2) It was cold and rainy. Worst weather imaginable and she pulled it off. 3) She finished in 2 hours! 4) She was easily the most gorgeous runner out of the 2700 total runners. Way to go Danielle!!
74/110
I'm in the process of hiking 110 3000-foot+ mountain peaks in New England. I'm up to 74!! I've been all over hiking these mountains lately. The foliage is spectacular and there have been some views that are jaw dropping. Been covering 15-20 miles a day. I also hiked the entire Wapack trail, and did half a dozen summits in the Northeast Kingdom. Danielle and I are hoping to hike the Presidential range on my birthday if the weather is ok. Check out some recent photos:
This is the Bennington Battle Monument as I was descending Mount Anthony (not a 3000 footer, but a fun mountain to hike up one morning!)
