Snowmobiled 75 miles in the Northeast Kingdom yesterday

Awesome views of Lake Willoughby. Renee and I snowmobiled through Westmore and around Bald Mountain. Here is an awesome photo at Lake Willoughby on the shore. Perfect weather and the trails were groomed to perfection man. Been skiing on Putney Mountain a lot. Sugaring season is well underway - we made a gallon, hope to make more once the weather warms up a bit.

First Snow Oct 22nd-23rd

Mount Mansfield Snow Stake - about 1 foot. Awesome!!
Snowy Pico at dusk
I love the combination of fall colors and fresh snowfall. The best man.
 Hiking in Chittenden with Renee
Near the summit of South Carmel Mountain
Renee standing in 8 inches of snow almost the summit of South Carmel Oct 23rd.

Renee (on most) and I have climbed over 105 mountains in 2016!!
Keep the snow coming!
Hoping for 10 months of winter, two months of bad sledding,

64 Peaks thus far and it's only June

Renee and I hiked three peaks along the New Hampshire and Quebec border, way the hell up in the northernmost tip of NH. You had to drive like 15 miles down a remote sketchy dirt road just to get to the base of the mountains. It was a beautiful day.
Old 1842 Marker designating the border between NH and Canada. Who the hell from the Government was way up here in 1842?!!
Boundary Pond, NH on the mountainous NH / Quebec border. It takes a while just to find it on a map!, let alone get there. Beautiful wilderness.
I bushwhacked up Green Mountain in the Adirondacks which is almost 4000'. Have fun going through these conifers! They will turn your clothes into a shag rug!!
An infamous Adirondack mudhole that looks tame, but will swallow you to your hips and destroy your boots. And this was on the official trail!! There are plenty of bushwhacks that are easier terrain than some of the Adirondack park official trails.
Ansel Adams would be proud of me on this one. Astounding view of the Great Range from Hopkins Mountain. It doesn't get any better than this.
At the summit of Green Peak after marching through the conifers in the photo up above.

Skate every day

Pretty cool unmarked waterfall near Williams, Ma in the Berkshires. Ma and I had a great time hiking to it and checking it out!
Here's Ma at another waterfall we checked out on Saturday. This one is Glendale Falls in the Berkshires and was roaring. Pretty awesome falls!
I built a walking/snowmobile/XC Ski bridge over our stream outlet from the Pond which leads to the trails on our mountain. It came together really well especially considering I have no construction skills and just hit my fingers with a hammer all afternoon.
I was trying to get this moose to get into my truck in Northern Vermont and listen to some music and go for a ride, but he was playing hard to get.

Love the April snow. Hope it snows until June.

53rd day out yesterday - skied the 2.75 mile long Raponda Primitive Trail in Wilmington which our Trails Committee completed a couple years ago. So beautiful out. I love the snow in the conifers.

Lake Placid, Skiing Whiteface this weekend, MAPLE SYRUP PRODUCTION

Renee and I on the cold and snowy Whiteface slopes April 3rd.
Renee and I went and stayed in Lake Placid this weekend. We found a mega inexpensive hotel that cost like $4, but still had a hot tub so that was a good score. We climbed Mt Andrew and Mt Adams on Saturday - ended up being sunnier than expected. Two snow squalls came through, but then it would clear up and be nice and sunny. The view from Mt Adams was spectacular - you could see Mt Marcy and Algonquin clearly. On Sunday we skied Whiteface - such an awesome mountain. It was snowing most of the day, not bad for April 3rd! We really liked this ski area, it's got tons of vertical drop and it's not all commercialized like a lot of other ski areas. Stopped in Lake George for dinner on the way home at this steakhouse that was almost as good as pizza. Awesome weekend around Lake Placid! Sunday was my 50th day skiing this season and Mt Adams was the 135th major peak I've climbed since last April.

"I will drink all this maple syrup as soon as I'm done buttoning my front pocket"
Ma and I in front of this years Maple Syrup we made - we produced almost 7 gallons.

Photo of our backyard after April 4th snow. Skied Hogback. I wish it would keep snowing through June.

Eagle Cliff NH - 125th peak since the Spring / Skiing Bromley with kiddos

At summit of Eagle Cliff in NH. COLD. 125th high peak since about May 1st
Deep snow, ledges, thick conifers - tough going on Eagle Cliff!
Renee and I went with Ayden, Nessia and Netanel skiing at Bromley. Beautiful warm day. Bromley has killer views. Kiddos did great snowboarding!!
Renee and I at Bromley. Took a ton of runs. She and I have been skiing up at South Pond in Marlboro a lot too - there are some really awesome trails to explore up there. We also hit Mad River Glen with Kimball last week - Mad River is the best ski area in Vermont. Snow was good, Renee, Kimball and I had a blast.
